Clubs

With the implementation of the Single System, there have been some changes to the Junior Competitions. For 2009-10 however the U18’s competition format will not be changed. The U15s competition will also remain in the same format except that it will be for the U16’s age group. An U14’s competition will be run as a pilot scheme in line with Single System principles with teams playing round robin games at single venues. Entry for these competitions is direct to England Hockey.

The other major change is at ‘mini hockey level. There are now separate competitions clubs and schools, on different dates, and for different age groups. For clubs the age groups are U10 and U12. Young people may play for both school and club but CANNOT represent their club at both age groups

There will also be an Indoor Hockey competition for clubs at U16 and U18 level.

To be eligible to participate in the competitions players must be of the appropriate age on Jan 1^st 2010.

In addition to these competitions local clubs will continue to organise their own festivals as in previous seasons. Listed below are those that have run before with dates to be confirmed. Please contact the appropriate club directly if you are interested
