We will be holding Junior Development Centres on the following dates for any young players who you feel are ready to enter the England Hockey Player Pathway. The selection process will be based on fitness, core skills and some game play. We shall be looking for players who have sound basic skills, but primarily those players who have drive and enthusiasm and who aspire to reach their full potential. The main purpose of the Junior Development Centre is to develop young players with potential. The centre mainly focuses on fitness, footwork, core skills and progression into game play. After a number of training sessions a period of competition will take place and players will be assessed on their suitability to attend the next stage of the player pathway (Junior Academy Centres). Please ensure that all players entered for the Junior Development Centre trials are committed to attending the training sessions on the dates and times and at the venues shown below It is imperative that players attend a JDC if they wish to be considered for selection to our Junior Academies, (old county) which will take place in January 2011. Players who are currently attending JRPCs (regional squads) will be invited to JACs in January and should not attend JDCs The 6 Centres and age groups will be as follows:
These Junior Development Centres are for Boys and Girls. There will be a charge of £35.00 for the ten, weekly sessions, and inter JDC matches. A T shirt will be included in the charge.
